Important Information for Donors

Donations may only be made by Australian citizens, residents or businesses.

You must disclose your donations to the Victorian Electoral Commission within 21 days of making the donation if:

  • an individual donation to Tony Lupton for Prahran is equal to or more than the disclosure threshold. This is currently $1,210.

  • the total value of multiple donations to Tony Lupton for Prahran in a financial year meets or exceeds the disclosure threshold of $1,210.

  • you make more donations to Tony Lupton for Prahran after the donation threshold has been met within one financial year (each donation must then be disclosed).

Maximum Amounts (General Donation Cap)

The maximum dollar value of political donations allowed to be given or received from one donor to one recipient between two state elections (the general donation cap) is currently $4,850.

Small contributions ($60 or less) do not count towards the $4,850 general donation cap unless you make multiple small contributions to deliberately avoid the disclosure threshold or general donation cap.
